During the missionary vigil on Friday 18 October, Sister Maria Angelica Silveira de Figueiredo, who recently arrived at the Mother House from Brazil, received the crucifix in the Cathedral of Bergamo. She was thus welcomed into our diocesan family! The prayer and words of Bishop Monsignor Francesco Beschi have revived in all of us the strength of the Holy Spirit, which like wind envelops us and pushes us out and like fire burns in our hearts. We have tasted the joy and beauty of being a Church that welcomes those who come from far away, that embraces those returning from the mission, that sends new missionaries to distant lands. We wish Sister Maria Angelica and all the missionaries to be everywhere and without borders, pilgrims of hope!
