Fraternity and new heart,
gifts of the eucharist
Also in Tanzania, in Dar-es-Salaam, our Sisters who work in that land had the joy of participating in the V National Eucharistic Congress and of exalting with thousands of faithful the Sacrament of the Eucharist, "sacrament of love, which it has the strength to change us, to make us whole, new."
“If you receive Jesus in the Eucharist and remain as you were, then there is something wrong in your life. This Sacrament makes us new”, underlined Mgr. Nyaisonga, President of the Episcopal Conference of Tanzania.
Throughout the world, every society needs healing. True healing is found in the Jesus of the Eucharist who calls us to the table of dialogue and communion. Even in Tanzania, Christian testimony is a light that pushes the faithful to a life of compassion, love and mutual care, attitudes that are increasingly necessary in a land strongly affected by recent kidnappings and killings in the country.
At the close of the event, the bishops strongly condemned such actions and called on relevant state institutions to live up to their responsibilities and restore Tanzania's honor as an island of peace.
